    1972

    Company Establishment

    Lai Yew Seng was founded in Singapore, beginning operations as a structural and architectural steelworks specialist. The company built its reputation on technical precision, site reliability, and long-term client relationships.

    1990s

    Expansion of Capabilities

    To meet growing industry demands, Lai Yew Seng expanded its service offerings to include general building works, mechanical and electrical coordination, and customised steel-based integration across various sectors.

    2000

    Incorporation as a Private Limited Company

    The company was officially incorporated as Lai Yew Seng Pte Ltd (UEN: 200005711E), positioning itself for larger project tenders and compliance with public sector requirements.

    2004

    Completion of Sentosa Sky Tower

    Appointed as main contractor for the Carlsberg Sky Tower (later renamed Tiger Sky Tower) at Imbiah Lookout, Sentosa — one of Singapore’s tallest panoramic structures at the time.

    2010

    Resorts World Sentosa: Crane Dance Project

    Lai Yew Seng successfully delivered the structural, mechanical, and special effect integration for Crane Dance, a landmark animatronic show at Resorts World Sentosa. This remains one of the largest outdoor mechanical installations of its kind globally.

    2014

    Signature Projects in Arts & Attractions

    Delivered the main structural support system for Wings of Time at Siloso Beach, and a feature LED waterfall structure for the City of Dreams (Manila). Both projects demonstrated the firm’s ability to integrate steel, lighting, and design under operational and environmental constraints.

    Completion of Joo Koon Industrial Warehouse

    Successfully completed the construction of a large-scale logistics and warehouse facility at 35 Joo Koon Road, achieving Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) in Q1 2017.

    National Infrastructure Projects

    Land Transport Infrastructure (LTA PT290)
    Undertook major enhancement works at 4 operational bus interchanges:

    • Bukit Batok
    • Tampines
    • Punggol
    • Bukit Merah

    Works included structural upgrades, drainage improvements, and pedestrian safety enhancements conducted under live transport operations.

    Lai Yew Seng was appointed for the supply and installation of crash-rated barriers and bollards across key national and commercial facilities, including:

    Each installation was executed with strict coordination protocols to minimise disruption within sensitive healthcare environments.

    Delivered and installed a high-performance crash-rated Strong Arm barrier system at Woodlands Checkpoint under the Ministry of Home Affairs, supporting enhanced border protection and vehicle control measures.

    2023

    Launch of LYS Secure

    Introduced LYS Secure as a dedicated brand vertical focused on perimeter security systems, crash-rated infrastructure, and design-integrated safety solutions. This marked Lai Yew Seng’s commitment to supporting urban security in civil, commercial, and critical infrastructure environments.
